I came to Taru, Kenya hoping I could be of service by sharing my gifts of time and financial assistance with children and communities who are far less fortunate.  I  never dreamed I would return home with more wealth than I ever imagined! There is no resentment or anger for lack among these beautiful people – only gratitude, joy, and appreciation for the little they receive.Their beautiful smiles have poured pearls into my open hands; the colorful kangas (cloths) shower rainbows into my senses and their praises of God in song have streamed gold into my soul.I do not view them as the poor deprived of this world. The richness of their character shatters a world of illusion for what is truly important, and I thank them for this priceless gift.    Susan Goodwin was a Kenya Keys volunteer intern with the 2018 Team that went to Taru, Kenya in June.
