A Tender Reminder: Guest Post by Gabe Fasolino

We had just finished our community celebration at Ndohivyo and I was walking away when I felt a small hand from behind gently take my hand to walk with me. 13 year-old Mlongo has Down Syndrome and is visually impaired, yet without a word, she had made it abundantly clear why this project was so valuable - for her, for the others in the school, and for me as well. One of the biggest insights I got from my time with Brent was the powerful structure that you and he have set up to empower people in the bush to continue the work you have started. The overall philosophy of creating leaders who will return to their villages to mentor another team of leaders is fantastic!
